Assistive Technology Assessments
Our AT specialists provide professional assessments to help individuals find the AT that best meets their needs. This service has a fee, which is based on the amount of time required for each individual, though some programs may cover the cost. Assessments are often used for workplace or educational settings, but we can provide assessments for any situation.
During an assessment, our specialists:
Meet with the client to discuss their unique needs and goals
Evaluate devices and features using a process called feature matching to ensure the best fit
Consider important factors such as device compatibility, environmental conditions, and specific tasks
Provide recommendations with detailed justification for clients, agencies, or employers
Why an assessment matters:
Choosing the right device is key, poorly matched technology can lead to frustration and abandonment. Our assessments help ensure that the AT will be effective, practical, and a good fit for the individual’s needs.
